Private view: Tsunami Architecture

Tsunami Architecture - Private view on Saturday, 12 March 2016, 14:00 – 17:00

X AND BEYOND, Griffenfeldsgade 27, 2200 Copenhagen N

In 2010 and 2011 the two artists Christoph Draeger and Heidrun Holzfeind traveled to five areas in Southeast Asia that had been hit by the tsunami in 2004 in order to investigate what the long term effect had been on local architecture and through that on the lives of the population.

This five channel video installation, previously shown at the Venice Biennale in 2013, shows recordings from all five places Draeger and Holzfeind visited, and draws a critical picture of the situation, its social complexity and existential extremity through interviews with different parties.

The exhibition is a part of the program Resistent Architecture, which X AND BEYOND has curated for this year’s Copenhagen Architecture Festival. For more information on the program visit

Everyone is welcome, registration not necessary.

The exhibition is open: 13 – 27 March 2016
