We’re thrilled to announce another North European Emergency and Disaster Studies (NEEDS) conference to be held in 2017. Expect four world-class keynote speakers, a path-breaking cooperation with Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, who will host NEEDS 3; a track dedicated to practitioners and a series of experiments with the traditional conference formats. So: please block 17-19 May 2017 in your calendar – it will be fun!

Speakers and presentations:

Dorothea Hilhorst is professor of humanitarian aid and reconstruction in disaster and conflict at the International Institute of Social Studies at the Erasmus University in The Hague, NL.
Kathleen Tierney is professor of sociology and the former director of the Natural Hazards Center at the University of Colorado Boulder, CO, US.
Greg Bankoff is professor of history at the University of Hull, UK.
Per Lægreid is professor at the Department of Administration and Organization Theory, University of Bergen.
